IOM Niger provides services and advice concerning migration to governments and migrants, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and migrant workers.

In preparation for World Migrants Day 2020 I was tasked to develop an illustrated social media campaign across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in both French and English. Posters were also printed and distributed in the national office. The purpose of this campaign was to share the stories of six migrants, and an object that mattered during their migratory journey. These women and men were interviewed while they were housed in transit centers run by IOM, awaiting return to their country of origin. For some, after years away from home. During this period of waiting and uncertainty, the IOM provides them with psycho-social support, and for those who need it, establishes mediation with the families back home. This project was an opportunity to reaffirm that everyone must be treated humanely and with dignity, regardless of their migration status.
